Welcoming Doctors Say and Prinzi to South Carolina Retina Institute

At South Carolina Retina Institute, we are delighted to announce the addition of two esteemed doctors to our team: Dr. Emil Anthony Ty Say, MD, and Dr. Robert A. Prinzi, MD. Their expertise and dedication to preserving and enhancing vision align perfectly with our commitment to providing exceptional care in retinal and vitreous disorders.

Founded in 2020 by Dr. Nicholas D. Marchase, MD, South Carolina Retina Institute has been dedicated to comprehensive treatment of retina, macula, and vitreous disorders. Dr. Marchase’s vision of providing innovative care in a supportive environment was bolstered by the addition of Jorge Jiménez, MD, a Board Certified Retina Specialist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon. Dr. Jiménez continues to play a crucial role in our commitment to excellence and patient care.

Meet Dr. Emil Anthony Ty Say, MD

Dr. Say brings extensive experience in ophthalmology, specializing in vitreoretinal diseases and surgical interventions. He started his career in private practice in 2013 and has since focused on treating complex conditions such as macular degeneration, retinal detachment, and various other disorders of the macula, retina, and vitreous. Dr. Say’s passion for advancing eye care is evident in his approach to personalized treatment. Having published more than 80 book chapters as well as scientific articles in national and international medical journals, he remains on the forefront of understanding and advancing medical care related to eyes.

Meet Dr. Robert A. Prinzi, MD

Dr. Prinzi joins us as a board-certified medical retina specialist with a profound commitment to patient-centered care. Specializing in the treatment of conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular diseases, and other complex retinal disorders, his expertise employs a meticulous and empathetic approach to improving the vision and quality of life of his patients. Dr. Prinzi’s dedication to his patients means that he tailors expert care to meet the unique needs of each individual, aiming to preserve and enhance their vision for a better quality of life.
